What traditional values revolve around is the maintaining of the "Home". A beautiful 'interior' protected and surrounded by an 'external' bubble of darkness/nothingness.

"Home" acts as a source of gravity. It actively prevents exploring the darkness. The more home is destroyed the more easily the darkness can be explored. Less rocket thrust needed. Sometimes this darkness even has some cool stuff like Innovation and Technology.

However... fully destroy this sense of directional force and everyone just floats in limbo. Meaninglessness and loneliness descends like a black fog. Constant innovation and exploring is now *necessary* the same way a shark needs to keep swimming to breathe.

Innovation as a guiding light necessarily homogenizes because "home" is now the school of fish in which you travel. Because there is no True Home you have to constantly keep a pulse on the Crowd and follow so you don't get left behind.
