Does anyone you know actually chop wood or carry water? The modern equivalent is washing the dishes.

Sure you can hire someone, but do you really want to pay money to another aspect of the universe to invade your personal privacy every night to save you a few minutes of a menial task?

Every time I started a new job, the commute seemed long in the beginning. But after a few weeks it just became part of my day. Dishes however have always been a source of constant background burden.

Once a burden becomes part of the pattern of you, it no longer is “heavy” because there’s no separate “you” that carries the burden.

If you’re sufficiently rooted in the present moment, even doing the dishes is an act of pure peace and enjoyment ... breathe, wash, the wash of water, the splash of bubbles, etc
