I think a shared or similar epistemology is perhaps the most important but under-appreciated factor in working with people. Like, you have to be on the same page about to what extent one can know anything about reality before you really do anything else.
This is probably why working with dogmatic people is so annoying. They require 100% certainty about everything before acting which requires cutting out scope until the project becomes a variation on.... you guessed it... spreading the existing dogma.
