Classical music is a lot like pithy success/spiritual aphorisms. Without experience, they all sound kinda the same(and also boring.)
This 'playing' then makes the 'listening' fun. E.g. japanese songs become "good" because they're the intro theme to some anime. (Similarly, I strongly suspect a large portion of wine/beer enjoyment comes from feeling fancy/humble-fancy.)

They all have a raw "bitterness". Being 'fancy' => 'I can digest and enjoy this complex bitterness for I have weathered the joys and sorrows of life.'

Most wisdom is like pretending to enjoy classical music or wine. "Ah yes, the 1974 Alan Watts vintage. Almost enlightened me. I'm not enlightened of course. (*whispers* I'm humble-enlightened.)"
