The concept of the “model minority” is abhorred by the west most because it is the living contradiction to the narrative they wish to sell that minorities are doing poorly because of racism.

Aren’t they connected to cultures that have thousands of years of evolution behind them though? Black americans were severed from theirs. Look at every tech company’s black diversity efforts. Mostly Africans (who weren’t severed).
