imagine if you had to console.log every line of code. this doubling of code wouldn't halve efficiency, it'd grind it to a halt. that's what ego is like when it produces arrested development.

it's kinda weird how code doesn't exist. it's not the actions it produces or what it shows. it's not the source code. it's not the specific assembly level instructions. it's just 'there'. the only reason we know it exists is that it changes reality in some way.

code is the wind rustling the leaves. source code is the manipulated environment of hot and cold spots in a carefully controlled miniature universe. (made up of discrete blocks)

people who fall in love with what they create are trying to love who they become in that act of creation. yet the act of loving the thing prevents the loving of the process that produced the thing. they are afraid to walk away from the mirror that reflects them so beautifully.

bad code is always egoic code. it's the brittle "me me me" chain that shouldn't be that long. You can't break the chain of a thousand me's without killing all of it and making the "me" angry. a house a cards is the worst kind of prison.

realizing feelings are just thoughts petrifies you from the inside out. realizing thoughts are just feelings traps you from the outside in.

code becomes alive as syntax is realized into reality via the imperfectly translated story a computer tell to the user. code is just marshalling what you want to say into a format that can be compressed and infinitely duplicated. (while losing tons of fidelity in the process)

without the user, the spark of communication never flies. bad code like the me-me-me ego chain is overly optimized to a single user. it's useless junk to trip on for anyone who is not the hoarder.
