A vessel that becomes a spear seeks self-annihilation because forging itself into a weapon means it has to ram itself into others as an existential need.

May as well continue the sexual metaphors in this side thread: An entity is feminine to the extent that is is bolstered by the masculine. When yang is raped, unlike yin, it becomes less masculine b/c it is forced into a ‘bottom’ role.

Weak yang creates exploitable yin. E.g. the “asian bride” trope. This has some other manifestations in popular culture:

Weak yang often requires something else as a cope. More money, bigger car/house/brain, etc...

American born chinese often try to distance themselves from direct chinese culture while still being part of the sub-culture that revolves around generic asian-ness like boba tea and ironic academic success.

Girls/women do this especially as the disgust reaction towards weak yang is more instinctive and less mediated by professional protocol. Also helps distance from the ‘trophy wife’ trope. “o u must be starving for big dick”

This aversion to weak men is in conflict w/ love for their fathers whose methods of protection are “wear a sweater, don’t date till your 30, get a phd, become a doctor, etc...” (basically raising daughters as sons by repressing the feminine)

The downside to hyper pragmatism is that is ignores gender differences. The balance of yin/yang energies is important not because it generates survival fuel but b/c it generates meaning fuel.

Without meaning fuel, the only way to cope with the existential void is to pass it on to your child.https://images.app.goo.gl/hFjMxUykwi2Ld1aFA …

Having a child ‘just because’ becomes something extremely important. (And as a side effect, inability to channel the void into newness manifests as being less creative)

Ending side thread with a thought that just popped up. ”all shadow cope is sexual cope.”
