Something or someone that takes itself too seriously is the root of all evil. It optimizes for the competitive case and forgets about the entry of new blood and new horizons that are necessary to continue *the* infinite game.

But does “too seriously” actually exist? It seems very difficult to control degrees of seriousness unlike degrees of unseriousness. It’s the “shit, someone died, stop laughing” binary switch flip.

Vs degrees of unseriousness which can even be manually controlled through substance ingestion. “How high do I wanna get with this group of friends?”

What “too serious” means then is enforcing rules for a game that no one is playing or seeing a demon or ghost that doesn’t actually exist. “Too serious” I suspect, is always a form of PTSD.

Since the majority of people in the world would benefit from therapy, most people have some degree of PTSD. Though probably emotional more than physical. Same effect though. The wrong things are taken seriously.

Evil is the same whether or not it manifests as the gun in the students hand or the pen in glutton’s. It just changes how thinly or thickly it’s spread around the world.

Evil is the mortal that masquerades as the inevitable, mainly through the instruments of Death and Taxes(Suffering).

True deaths lies behind you, true suffering lies ahead. They draw a line on the path. It’s a rather unclear path because of how many pseudo forms of death and suffering there are.
