Whatever the right word for it is it should be similar to Nuclear Fusion. It was tried once. It created great power and energy in times of desperation. But it was a runaway process that exploded.

China is currently the closest to tapping into this immense energy. There is *huge* power being generated and they think it's under control. Similar attempts to channel this energy in the U.S. are like north korea playing with water rockets.

That's to be expected from a country that feels like it "defeated" the nazis. A country of waterbenders that defeated the tyrannical fire nation is not going to be particularly good at mastering new cutting edge firebending techniques.

The question is. "Will this fusion reactor work, or will it blow us all to smithereens?"

It's not complete bullshit and irresponsible usage of technology. China has a track record of doing things at scale that other countries simply can't do. E.g. large dams, high speed rails, mobile payments infrastructure etc..

Some criticisms are: "You copied/stole our technology." "Your dam is flooding villages" "It's just authoritarian centralized control taking advantage of brainless mass labor." "You can't even control food quality" or "Yeah but we went to the moon."

Just like you can gauge what type of bombs are being used by their energy density and second order effects like radiation you can gauge what kind of power is being used at a social level.

China is using a new technology that attempts to tap into and control the "nazism" that is INSIDE EVERY ONE OF US (just like atoms are everywhere) Nothing else matches the energy density signature.
