I think the output of your notes should be like looking at your old homework assignments. It should be mostly nostalgic and cut b/c you've internalized everything.

Which is why that even though I use Roam, I think it's not that great for a 'personal tool'. It's like fetishizing your childhood homework assignments and making them part of your knowledge repository.

It mixes the sentimental personal stuff with the work stuff. You can end up citing your 5th grade homework as part of your Phd thesis.
