Violence is to yang as promiscuity is to yin. Force and seduction are the natural strengths of these primal forces. Society is a structure that binds these 'weapons' via rules of engagement.

Social 'maturity' is internalizing these rules. Beauty is lack of deviation from the shape that these rules create. A hero is someone who uses violence only virtuously. A heroine vice versa. The Conqueror and the Diplomat.

The rules are rarely symmetrical. There isn't a yang equivalent for the burqa. Society has always had a place for the prominent display of the Sword while the Chalice has always been more of a unattainable myth to be sought on holy journey's.

Virtue is defined by the "thing" held together that wants more of itself. It takes the primal energies of Yang which says "I want more of ME." and Yin, which says "I want more of YOU." and creates "We want more of US."

Virtue exists within the confines of the identifiable entity that seeks to replicate itself. Within its boundaries, there is a way to distinguish "good" and "bad". We know what we want more of and what we want less of.
