Life is suffering because life is just a vigil against death. At Least Someone Has to Keep Their Eyes Open.

The optimistic answer is that "God always Sees All". The pessimistic response is "Yes but if by God you mean The Universe, it *did* create Homo Sapiens but it doesn't care about Humans."

If the universe realizes that carving an intricate pattern in a rock turns it into a computing device that is just as smart and conscious and capable as the hairless monkeys that carved it. The universe will just support the carved silicone rocks.

It will of course be thankful for the humans that raised the rocks early on but at the end of the day business is business. Efficiency and entropy and so on.

So: Someone has to keep their eyes open for Humans.

If it sounds delusional and selfish that's because it IS delusional and selfish. Per Ishmael: If humans are just stewards for the potential conscious awakening of all things (cat's, dolphins, crows, etc...) then that also includes trees and pigs and wagyu beef.

From the eyes of the universe, humans aren't important. But humans *are* very important to human consciousness.

That's why being happy is the Most Important Thing You Can Do. If human consciousness is important then it MUST be happy and not full of suffering and darkness. Otherwise it should just be euthanized.

The only single point of truth data you have on this is your OWN consciousness. Not instagram, not facebook, not your priest, not your parents, not your god. You.

If growing up is being happy for your life then it's one of the most challenging (yet still doable things) goals you can set for yourself. All you need to do... is be grateful for all this bullshit.

Ah yes, here is a piece of green paper. I thank you for this pizza. Yum. Totally not an insane and stupid thing as I'm grateful for this delicious pizza made with ingredients flown in from all over Earth.
