People in tech love to say "meetings are a terrible waste of time," but what they don't get is that the primary function of a meeting is to serve as an alibi for attendees to avoid unfair shifting of blame on them afterwards.

one interesting thing I have seen is that if you feel nothing has to be added, and don't ask SmArT questions, people notice although it's clear from the start nothing will get done except deciding the next meeting date the whole thing is comically performative

so you need to invent talking points that waste time and the more time wasted on that talking point, the more your contribution in the meeting
