How is it that presidential elections are so frequently VERY close? This just seems odd to me. 
Why are positions so evenly divided? You’d think there’d be more uneven distribution of perspectives

I really don’t know but I have the same question. It seems as if our collective psyche is wishing a close race to reality
That's pretty interesting. It's like a cell splitting when it gets too big. the 'system' is incentivized for an even split into manageable chunks.
