A lot of beautiful modern houses with a lot of glass look really pretty but don't feel cozy enough to live in. They're too 'open'. For marketing? The "living potential" information hits my brain at a far higher density than a large wood block cabin.

The information presented is also very "clean". There's a lot going on, but everything is composed in a way where there's still space for your imagination. This "space" through managed complexity separates mess and sophistication.

These sorts of homes have a very high 'anti-entropy' value. They're like giant buckets that can hold more of the entropy we shed off just by living.

Lots of open space, floor to ceiling glass walls, pools, multiple chairs...it's easy to imagine life constantly surrounded by happy friends and family.

The reality is often more BoJack Horseman than most will admit though. A giant entropy bucket doesn't matter in the long run if you don't empty it. (Not emptying it is often a defense mechanism from not being able to produce enough "life energy" so it's hoarded.)

A large entropy bucket is like a large battery. Buying such a house for most people is like buying a 40 miles scooter when you only travel 5 miles day to day. You don't fully utilize its storage and discharge capacity. But... you can imagine all your vagabond adventures.

Or more specifically... you can imagine other people imagining all your adventures... mmm.. feels good...

What distinguishes a house vs a home is that a home builds roots. Like a tree house. If you've lived somewhere and don't feel like you've actually placed down roots then you're not in a 'home'. You're in a Grand Central Terminal in a Big City trying to Get Somewhere.
