As our body ages our emotional frailty increases when the feelings of the body have been the primary way we make sense of reality. The thing is though... your thoughts about your feelings don't have feelings. So they can't be hurt.
Cuts and bruises healed so much faster when I was a kid. Now they seem to take multiple scab cycles to fully scar over. I wonder if lack of emotional healing factor is correlated to how much we "feel" with the body.
