Busy-ness isn't intrinsically sinful though. It's just that within the workplace it's almost always mis-used as a status game or as a way to excuse communication and relationship failures.

The reason we step aside for busy people is because the only *real* business any of us have is going on our personal journeys. We step aside for those who can convince us that they really are "On a Mission".

(Aside: Something that I think is unique to american culture is that missionaries are allowed to be billionaires while other cultures prevent this.)

When two people are busy in the same direction/speed they can build an actual relationship. Usually a crucible-like rivalry ensures because neither of them likes this kind of intimacy. Each is driven to go even *faster* to regain the solitude of supremacy.

Busy-ness asks "What is the point?" When externally focused it asks "What is the point of Life?" The answer...Death is the point of life. When internally focused it asks "What is the point of Death?" The answer... Life is the point of death.

The river exists because of the waterfall just like the waterfall exists because of the river. If you can't enjoy the river you're only choice is to race to the waterfall. If you keep the roar of the waterfall in mind, you'll appreciate your time on the river.
