Same for friendships. If one friend suddenly becomes rich through effort, that friendship often breaks. Young friendships formed in school especially are formed via "Ah, you're shitty at math/sports/girls just like me." Break the mutual shittiness pact and the friendship ends.

Friendship is often just mutual victimism. You feel a victim in the same way someone else does.

Striving, that is, to struggle against the net of victimhood is what breaks the net of friendship. Friends drift apart because over time they end up with different problems.

Anytime you refuse to be a victim you transcend yourself and sever friendships. Anytime you mutually accept victimhood you become friends.

Friends talk about their problems with each other. If one person's problem is that their 10M dollar beach house requires too much maintenance, the other person can't well talk about how he's struggling to make rent.

When we choose not to accept victimhood we rise and have 2 choices. Either we leave our friends behind. Or we take up with us by showing them the way.

Most people leave their friends behind. They're too 'heavy' and too 'many'. You rationalize "It's their life, I can't be their parent."

Some magically take them all along for the ride. These are "leaders". They left no one behind.

The point is, in this rising process, the choice to leave a friend behind is intentional. "You" have to be the one to sever a friendship. "You" were the one who said "Be like this or we can't be friends anymore." "You" were the one who was first dissatisfied with their being.

As you rise higher in victim challenges you have fewer and fewer friends. You look for the people who are at the same 'level' as you. Loneliness is caused by feeling you are better than other people.

You think "We could be friends! But only if you..." That's isn't friendship because friendship isn't conditional. True friendship, like love, isn't conditional on some set of requirements.

"Bad" people are people whom we think should stop climbing victim mountain. E.g. a millionaire who thinks himself a victim and bursts out with anger b/c the waiter spilled water. We don't want to be 'friends' with such 'petty' people.

Everyone thinks that their own perspective is the most moral one. Everyone else is always either pettier or uncultured.

Lonely people destroy the world... They tear apart friendships because the only way for them feel less lonely is to travel upwards as a pack with other lonely climbers.

This condemns the lonely climber to suffering. Friends crash into walls and are left behind. Yet the climber cannot stop. He is compelled to keep climbing, in order to continue being part of the community of 'climbers.' In the end, he watches his 'friends' shoot pass.

Lonely people are lonely because they're lost. They wandered too far ahead of their 'family/culture' and had to fall into a rough group of climbers to keep warm.

Lonely people are often abandoned. It's the mother and father who tell their child they love them, yet can't see that mentally and emotionally they have drifted miles apart.

To heal this rift the group must be guided back to the family. Even if your child starts hanging out with say.. heroine junkies asking them to suddenly drop all their friends is cruel.

It's like if you lost your kid in the amazon jungle and didn't realize for years. Your child had to survive by joining a cannibal tribe and now you're angry and berating your child for joining a cannibal tribe.

Lonely people often gain the most power. The higher up the mountain you climb, the more you channel the power of the gods. Lonely people destroy the world. Splitting heaven in two in search of love.

The spirit of 'democracy' : don't forget your friends. The spirit of 'republic' : Rise. Rise up.

We hate the angels who soars into heaven and deem them devils. We love those around us who are helping us build a staircase to heaven.

It's the process of building a staircase to heaven that we're in love of. Not heaven itself. We should rejoice...because heaven is infinite. We will build this staircase forever!

Not so to those who misinterpreted love as heaven itself rather than the process of ascending heaven. Lonely people are trying to get into heaven. They've climbed some stupid mountain and art knocking outside god's cabin, asking to be left it.

They've left their friends behind in order to reach a state of happiness that requires you not to leave your friends behind. Talk about dog chasing the tail...

The thing is though... there is "another side". A side on which everyone can be friends. A side on which everyone is a victim. This is the realizing that everyone is a victim of death.

You don't have to become a software billionaire, olympian, or nobel prize winner to realize this. a janitor, waitress, and 8 year child can all potentially realize this fully at any moment.

When you realize that you're the ultimate victim, you can be friends with almost anyone. You realize that everyone fears death. You talk to the king the same you talk to your parents the same you talk to your friends the same you talk to your kids.

That's what "Being who you are" is. You're the same in every interaction. You no longer need a mask just like the former dog fighting pitbull no longer needs a muzzle.

You wrestle with the rabid wild bull because you love it. You are risking your life to pull the spear out of it because you realize that that angry writhing bleeding mass is your heart.
