a weird thing therapists/articles recommend is “telling yourself to do something for just 15 minute” but they never explain how if i struggle to start doing something under normal circumstances how am i supposed to convince myself to start something if im gonna stop immediately ?
Just the advice itself is sorta helpful if the therapist is accepted as an authority figure or similar. It's like using the desire to not want to disappoint your friends/family/teachers to overcome the initial friction.
