"Changing the world" is mostly about changing people. For most people, changing the world involves making your world of people smaller and easier to change.

Alternative question: why must we change the world? Why not explore it? Or something (Not saying that it doesn't need changing. But it is an interesting question)
No more literal frontiers anymore. the only frontiers left are inner space (spirituality, psychedelics) and outer space. Both of these reject/transcend the world at the end though.

We must change the world, because it's literally not changing by itself. But it has to, for change is a sign of vitality. What we actually want is to catalyst vital processes in the world so thst it's able to live and thrive.
