False gods are what we cling to as we are relentlessly dragged into the future. We scrape along unnecessarily on the ground.

We think that if we let go of our gods we will fall into the abyss towards death. The truth is if we let go of our gods we are propelled not into the future(eventual death) but into the present moment.

Examples of false gods: "If I live in a safe neighborhood, my family and I will not be hit by drunk drivers." or "If I cross this street, I won't be hit by a meteor and die."

They all take the form of "As long as A, B, C then I won't die."

Every false-god killed in the 'normal' way just becomes a new false-god. E.g. when you resolve a fear, a new one takes it's place. The only way to kill all the false-gods once and for all is to kill god itself.

You have to realize, no matter what you do, that you could die at any moment. You have to be willing to accept the tragedy of all your amassed money, status, knowledge, etc.. will go to waste.

Spreading information via technology to poor countries can create suffering because we've given them more potential than they can actualize.

Religion is that which intermediates between your ambition and your life and allows your life to feel full and fulfilled. Sometimes it gives you knowledge, sometimes it shields you from it.
