To say that someone is selfish is to claim that your god is superior to their false god. You are _more_ important because you are serving a _more_ important god.

Freedom of religion taken to the extreme is the right for every individual to worship themself as God.

You're living a lie to try and avoid death but death will come regardless of what you do. You can't change fate because fate is by definition what you end up doing. You might as well enjoy the ride.

False gods are what we cling to as we are relentlessly dragged into the future. We scrape along unnecessarily on the ground.

We think that if we let go of our gods we will fall into the abyss towards death. The truth is if we let go of our gods we are propelled not into the future(eventual death) but into the present moment.

Examples of false gods: "If I live in a safe neighborhood, my family and I will not be hit by drunk drivers." or "If I cross this street, I won't be hit by a meteor and die."

They all take the form of "As long as A, B, C then I won't die."

Every false-god killed in the 'normal' way just becomes a new false-god. E.g. when you resolve a fear, a new one takes it's place. The only way to kill all the false-gods once and for all is to kill god itself.

You have to realize, no matter what you do, that you could die at any moment. You have to be willing to accept the tragedy of all your amassed money, status, knowledge, etc.. will go to waste.

Spreading information via technology to poor countries can create suffering because we've given them more potential than they can actualize.

Religion is that which intermediates between your ambition and your life and allows your life to feel full and fulfilled. Sometimes it gives you knowledge, sometimes it shields you from it.

Ripping away someone's god is the equivalent of a bunch of boys stripping down a girl and spraying her with super soakers. It's a bombardment of "Truth" designed to humiliate and shame.

"Power" is the threat and ability to strip someone's god naked and shame it. Immunity to power is to have no gods. "Power" doesn't work on me if I'm willing to punch you until you die and suffer the consequences as long as I get that powerpoint in a different font."
