Burnout feels like the mental equivalent of injuring a muscle. The brain has been pushed past the ability to recover with volume of rest alone.
With muscle injury, a section of the body freezes up to avoid further injury. With burnout, a vulnerable part of you was sent to face something it wasn’t ready for.

What both have in common is lack of self knowledge, both body and mind. Preventing burnout requires listening and understanding. Recovering from it requires apologizing. I.e. self forgiveness
