Loneliness is a superpower. A superpower is when the distance between you and another is unfathomable due to your uniqueness.

The resent against the elites of today is because of how distant they are. How unwilling they are to connect to the 'people'

The group sees itself as a loyal dog pack while the elites see them as the zombie hordes. The elites are viewed as lonely and corrupt vampires while they view themselves as a superpower.

The problem is at any given moment in history only certain skills translate well to being wealthy and powerful. For every lonely superhero who is leading the world there are many more who are just lonely.

When the 'heroes' of the day then encourage the masses to be more heroic they encourage more of this loneliness. They tell other people to "Just be themselves".

This advice is terrible unless who you are has talents that are naturally suited for your world. The majority of people have very different truths than what the world currently is. They have to follow some sort of protocol just like we abide by the rules of the road.

Rich people just being themselves are the very embodiment of "orthodox privilege". Though specifically the orthodox of whatever currently gets you wealth & power. http://paulgraham.com/orth.html

A genius who is good at numbers will make more money in our modern world than a genius who is good at colors or a genius who is good at war strategy. "Unlocking your inner genius" gets you rejected much more often than rich.

Following your passion only works if your passion is actually valuable. For most people, we don't WANT to find out that our passions are. It would make our chosen script lives unbearable.

The realm of the elite all look the same because they've created structures to filter for more of the same. Even for something as petty as a programming interview job.

When the elite however recognize that they are just lucky, that their natural genius and the nature of the world match up, then they become a great source of unlocking other people's genius.

E.g. the artists who knows nothing about business or numbers can have help in the form of others. The artists natural genius is channeled into a socially useful form.

The elites of now are actually MUCH better than the elites of old. E.g. previously we had 'general' elites, creating an ecosystem of constant war. Now we have 'capitalism' elites creating an ecosystem of constant growth.

The free market is crucial for that artist to be augmented. Money is crucial as a method of transferring certain types of genius into forms of usable energy.

It's not perfect. It creates the market mechanism which can allow regular people to augments themselves and express their genius. But it also homogenizes in 2 directions:

One is money/math skills in general. Symbolic manipulation and future projection/predicting. An archetype that lives more in the mind than in the body.

The other is market literacy. The ability to pick and choose from the flood of information, manage it, and augment yourself properly. e.g. A genius artists who doesn't even know how to hire or work with other people can't take advantage of the market.

This can be considered general "business" sense. Most people are bad at this (like me). Sure we can browse amazon and shopify stores very well. Sure we can google "Best X of 2020" and read lots of reviews but we don't "really" know the full extent of the services provided.

I think this is because most people give up on their genius to perform a specific type of highly paid labor. Software is the one I chose because it was/is what's popular and high paying for this time period in which I'm alive.

I'm not motivated to understand what kind of services can help augment my genius because my adult identity revolves around something that may not actually be worth augmenting. It's like buying a house for your step-child instead of your actual child.

This may be why some businessmen can feel inhuman. They've spent their lives forging themselves into an identity optimized for making money. They feel 99% puppet and 1% soul.

They seem insensitive because they've made the sacrifice of burying their souls. The screaming of souls just feels annoying to them. Like the screaming of entitled children.
