      The "tech industry" has become a kind of conspicuous leisure activity divorced from any material (or higher spiritual) purpose. Our social systems could run on a tiny fraction of the code that exists.

      The tech and VC ecosystems have a lot of knowledge and wisdom, but not very much love. It ends up feeling masturbatory at times. (E.g. @VCBrags )
