Pretty sure men mansplain to other men as well. In certain contexts men are driven to push especially hard on those who don’t push back because they need to know everyone’s limits. Like soldiers in war or hazing for new construction job teammates.
It’s not that men are dicks to women but that men are just generally dicks to everyone and that there’s merit in eventually becoming a mature and brave and noble and loving dick.
“mansplaining” is my official method of asking for advice from other men. They won’t be able to resist the opportunity to fix my understanding/problem and I rely on this foible for emotional support.
