Reminds me of when I tried bridging the gap between designers and engineers at a company I was at. Was accused by each “side” of being on the other “side”.
Poking at boundaries is a type of trolling I think, so the kneejerk defensiveness isn’t totally out of place. It’s hard to dissolve tensions by outright indicating that there is too much seriousness going on. The best comedians are very well paid for a reason.
