People “want” to work with people but only put out flyers for followers or leaders. Every interview requires you to speak up or speak down and perform propery.
Having worked at many large famous companies doesn’t count for much. Teams tends to either want the starry eyed who want to prove themselves, or the powerful, who can take the reigns.

Break horizontally into honesty and either you’re seen as an unseasoned leader or overstepping your role. You can outright say “i’m ironically wearing this (metaphorical) tie”

That's unfortunately a conflict of interest for most jobs. For most full time jobs you are paid primarily to support the narrative (through doing 'work') that holds the team/org together. The actual 'real' value you provide isn't worth that much.
