It's probably not static but changes over time. You understand and vibe w/ a writer the more you read their stuff. A novel is like a blind-date. You're committed to knowing a fair chunk about the person.

It also changes as people get more proficient with the language. In the future there will Tolstoy level writer using only emojis, describing emotions we've never felt before.

Conservatism is very much about cultural preservation. Communication methods only work when people use the same language. Technology is almost always disrupting these communication networks. Without conservatism, we leave the past in the dark, lonely and afraid.
