When you disrupt the concept of family you also disperse stored hate. The reason some groups hate each other is because of ancestral murder/rape/torture/etc... Family loyalty & love continues hatred into the present day. The question is though...what is lost as well?
My personal intuition of the main lesson of the Bhagavad Gita is that life/consciousness is God's drama. You remove the drama and you remove the war but you also remove the love as well. When the universe is not allowed drama, there is nothing worth being conscious for.
