Life feeling short has little to do with the actual passage of time and more to do with how much you change. When you look back and realize that who you were before has died and who you think you are will soon follow.

Learning, travel, catastrophes, etc.. all these give us new eyes and new lives. Whether in mourning or in celebration, it's only looking back with perspective that gives us understanding and closure.
