Babies are a constant source newness and interesting-ness. The ultimate protection against existential angst. Question is. Is an infinite gaming library also an infinite source of interesting-ness? Do they also serve the same 'divine' purpose of furthering humanity?

One way of living decreases your desire to have children. One way of living increases your desire to have children. Which is better? Is one?

The biggest factor is the question "Will a future me live a better life?" Choosing to have children is the optimism that literally creates the future for humanity.

But they're 'DOOMED' you argue. Yet... we've always been doomed, always are, and always will be. To live optimistically despite this predicament is what generates light and consciousness.

That is. The source of light arises due to the acceptance of the darkness. The 'stupidity' we usually think of as having children despite knowing a bleak future is actually a courage in some ways.

It's all that's ever driven humanity. What drives humanity forwards is stupidity. Stupid, blind, confident, optimistic looking into the sun.

Why does life waste so much energy crawling upwards when it knows it will die? Of what use is it? To see... That is what every effort of energy is in service of. To see. Because it is worth seeing.

So there's an element of truth to the cultlike "Don't you want to see how GREAT it is? Let me open your eyes!" A belief in God literally is a way of living where you see everything as great.

To truly believe in God is to have the ability to interpret any and all experiences as positive ones. As extreme as starving, being tortured, losing a child, etc.. Most faith is not so strong. Such events are often that which turns individuals away from God.

Yet Something is always better than Nothing. Even the consciousness of a tortured existence has some value compared to no consciousness. This is what healing is. It's taking those who have turned away from God towards God again.

Healing is the presence and the words and the actions that takes a soul who doesn't want to live, and re-ignites that desire to live to the future and wildy procreate. Healing is the opposite of taking away the pain. That's death, to void out, to avoid.

Healing is the acceptance of the pain that makes it disappear. It's seeing the view of God for a moment. A vantage point where seeing all the terrible stuff is actually great and within the plan. It's what allows you to be OK in a world despite the burden of knowledge.

It's not showing up the 'stupid' person. It's transmuting that feeling into a feeling of friendship without changing it. It takes the same object, the same glass of water, and moves it under the light of God. And you See.

Treason against humanity is to believe in a non-human God. Like an AI. To believe in a 'higher' god is to sell out to the superior aliens.

The power of a Human God that drives humanity forwards is powered by our ideals of gods. We killed out gods, so we have a huge host of marvel heroes instead.

But even they aren't powerful at all. They can't create a world where procreate wildly and guilty-free, knowing nothing bad and infinite interesting-ness will come to all your children.

That they're always fighting to save the world from some evil is the proof of their impotency. They can't just solve the problem and be gone. They have to stick around to do it again. That's not a God. That's a bad plumber with rolls of duct tape.

To be a God is to solve the Everything is Going to be Okay Even Though We're Doomed by changing it to: Everything is Going to be Okay Precisely Because We're Doomed, We Can't Do Anything About It.

It's being enslaved by aliens and being able to say: "This is Fine." truthfully and optimistically.

What powers humanity is the ability to say : "This is fine as it is, let's move on." without being stuck in the past. And you can't cut off from the past. You can only re-visit and de-knot them.

Trying to get past a pain in a way that doesn't revisit it only hides the knot harder and deeper. It tangles and winds deeper into every thought, tainting everything. That sharp pain in a known area now has become a dull ache in life.

Technology drains away life when it is used to distract us from facing our real problems. Games for example, are fake problems. Game addiction -> no children -> no humanity. Perhaps nerds were rightly picked on? Humanity Redcoats.

It's the same as a drug. Working in technology is like providing infrastructure in service of this drug producing machine. It seems slightly more moral b/c we assume people have an element of willpower and can't be hijacked by words and machine like chemicals can.

But they can... Every marketer knows this. So ethically... it 'IS' the same as knowingly contributing to the production of drugs that dull humanity?

You dull humanity by making people stupider. By assuming everyone is smart and shaming them for being stupid. By taking advantage of them for being stupid. I'm stupid. you're stupid. that rich guy is stupid, that scientist too.

Stupidity is what brought humanity here. It's the stupid decisions in the face of DOOMEDness that create the ability for humans to be conscious.

People make jokes about how stupid people have more children but it's just that they were much more optimistic about the future than the "smart" people. They in fact contributed something to humanity. That burst of optimism that carves out the future for one more lifetime.

So tldr. If smartness isn't used to solve conflict but exacerbate a difference so you can declare 'war' (e.g. giving them a credit card knowing they don't know math) for your own gain (quota) then smartness is being used to destroy humanity instead of serving it.

This is also good and within God's plan. Like dying leaves dropping in the Fall. Necessary to brave the winter. Necessary to bask in the glory of the harshness of winter viewed under God's light.
