One of the things I hated most at some tech companies was someone holding you to a higher standard b/c it was documented as some sort of rule or best practice. Even when they didn’t follow it themselves. Even when they made up excuses for when they broke one.
Growth, antifragility, diversity, and actual relationships are sacrificed in this environment. The measure of excellence becomes a measure of conformation to the orthodox.
