1/ Individuals grow through individual experience. Groups through group experience. Humanity too grows through experiences good and bad. The larger the group, the slower the growth as larger experiences are much more difficult to create.

The larger the group the more difficult it is to craft a shared experience. Tech can connect people through time and space making the mass of humanity huge.

The only shared experiences possible are literally catastrophes. There’s no other way to grow the group b/c there are no other ways of achieving group experiences.

Even a show like Game of Thrones uses a form of shock and awe to coordinate a group experience. No other emotion has the spreading power to hold such a large group together.

Our ability to grow as individuals has reached well beyond any one person’s ability to achieve. The cost is our ability to grow as a group, family, country, species, etc...

The only experiences that hold us together are negative experiences. Actions that avoid or destroy negative experiences become the same actions that destroy group belonging.
