Anything that can be understood needs to be grasped. Anything that can be grasped needs to be finite. Ideas are powerful because they can capture even the infinite. E.g. Infinity as a way to capture the infiniteness of numbers.

Anything that can be modeled can be understood. Reality can't be understood because by definition it can't be modeled with full fidelity.

The process of understanding reality is a virtue, but believing that you CAN understand it is a sin. The latter enforces a lower fidelity reality on everyone else while the former flows forwards with humility. It knows the best it can do is keep up with the fleeting Now.
