It's not that bad is good but that bad is necessary to recognize the good. Literally, Consciousness itself is created when there is the interplay of good and bad.

Any interaction that arises in consciousness takes the form of a story, which all necessarily grow from seeds of conflict(badness). Pure consciousness is powered by fear of physical death. Ego consciousness is powered by fear of egoic(identity) death.

People who emphasize the 'goodness' of Death aren't saying that Bad is Good, but that Bad is just as necessary as Good to create the conditions by which we're arguing about why there is Bad!
