The whole Spartan Manly Wolf Stoic movement that tries to attain for Fearlessness of Death Whenever It May Come is rather admirable. But they're just putting on blinders that add Courage at the cost of Stubbornness and Grayness of Life.
If you have nothing you're willing to die for, you have nothing you CAN be brave for. It's like trying to power a nuclear submarine with coal and gasoline.
