True discipline is a gleeful acceptance of death. If Present Me is always doing stuff for Future Me then Present Me is always dying without getting to do what Present Me wants. The only way to enjoy is the pretend that Future Me and Present me are the same. That bridge is ego.
Adults are actually dead because they try to live moment to moment. They think Present Me is an actual thing. Present Me can't be an actual thing because Present Me lasts for 0 time.

True discipline is not to be the adult who strives to live as long as possible, but to be the child, who doesn't even THINK about whether their life is good or not.

True discipline is true courage. It's the courage to just Be.... and Be Fine.

It's saying "It can't get much better than this, this is how I'd like to die." and keeping that sensation for the rest of forever.
