To choose the devil is to embrace the asshole and live in a selfish way. The people who think of as narcissists.

The problem is it's very difficult to remove the darker thoughts. Self-criticism, shame, guilt, anger, etc... To pretend you do not need Light because there is no Darkness is like closing your eyes to hide.

You have to have occasional Heroic thoughts to balance everything out or risk depression. Wildly swinging back and forth, gaining control over time until eventually, you hit Balance.

And realize that imbalance is thus: the Devil thought himself the Angel and made the Angel believe she was the Devil.

Father of lies. The Original Lie, self delusion. "We are all sinners" is true in a way because self-delusion and self-creation are the same thing. Delusion is the Strange Loop that creates the sense of self.

The thing is the Devil was right in the wrong way. What he knew as Truth was that Devil and Angel were the same. But instead of "I'm just as good as you!" he decided instead on "You're just as bad as me!".
