Thread on the Fundamental Archetype being Scientist vs Artist. I used to spend time giving my photos a rating from 1-5. I wonder if the effort I spent choosing between 3 and 4 or 4 and 5 helps in grokking subtle differences. Like working out your "Good Taste" muscles.

Good taste is like higher discernability. They see something you don't. They have a connection to Beauty because they can sense Up an Down. Better or Worse.

People with Bad taste don't think their taste is bad. The thought in their mind is "This is JUST as good as That" People with good taste seem like snobs, pointing out only defects, nothing is good enough for them except an Experience of God.

Openness and Good Taste are connected in this respect. Being able to take an Experience of God seriously requires a leap of faith. A Serious Scientist sets out to kill God, not experience it.

Scientist vs Artist may be the fundamental archetype that drives every divisive boundary. Religious wars are right. You cannot live in peace with those who have an entirely different relationship with God than you do.

The Scientist thinks he is open minded because the Artists is seen as naively open minded. "What you believe in doesn't exist. This is JUST as good as That."

Every conflict is a waiting for the close minded to take a leap of faith. For them to realize the fading beauty needs help. The Scientists takes a leap of Faith and accepts his Death, joining the Artist, and blessed to die together.

A Guru is one who collects tickets at the border between facing God or not facing God. A Sage is one who explains it. The Bodhisattvas guards it. The Enlightened have jumped past it.
