Recipe for creativity: Collaboration without consensus. It combines: 1) The serendipity of random ideas. 2) The singular vision of a single creator. Collaboration gives you new ideas. But consensus destroys creativity. Trust the ultimate judgement of a clear-eyed visionary.

Seems to be working ok for Amazon so far but let’s keep an eye on them
just mentioning that it’s often misused as a silencing weapon. E.g. steve jobs stories and micro management. I think the differentiating factor is the followers following out of choice vs coercion of some sort.

In the U.S. the culture of being able to walk away means that leadership must be “true”. In say China/Japan there’s more force involved, e.g. strict traditional protocol, respect for seniors, elders, etc...
