I’m giving up on audiobooks. I’ve found that I retain and learn significantly less from them vs. print (and this seems to be consistent among folks I know who primarily listen). It was a good run. RIPpic.twitter.com/135uug4yb6

I also struggle with audiobooks, but a large part of it (I think) is that book sentences were written to be read, not heard. I have less trouble with podcasts, lectures, etc. Have you listened to Hardcore History? If so, does that fall in the same category for you?
Outstanding and retrospectively obvious insight. You can immediately tell when someone is lecturing to you vs speaking with you. Lectures tend to put people to sleep. Audiobooks are useful for that purpose. Way to soothe the eyes and kinda learn something before dozing off.
Lectures are like babyfood, predigested because of mandatory feeding.
