How does reaching fluency in another language affect your cognition? I’ve hit Rough Conversational, but always had some english conversion running in my head Does it feel like a different psychological personality? Perhaps a different cognitive lens? Is it worth the effort?
Similar to when hobbies spur analogical thinking. Main strength for language is that there isn’t a ceiling for expression, downside is that it requires another person. Expressive “infinite” expertise hobbies like music/art/writing are prolly similar.

ooh I like the music analogy. Multiple interfaces to the same terrain I could never stick to one instrument either, makes sense that this would apply to language as well
