People aren’t corrupt when they aren’t made to feel dumb and impotent. The problem with a lot of tech culture is that such concentration makes even smart people feel dumb and impotent.

This is the necessary result of centralization and hierarchies. These smart driven and jaded people then rationalize or are deluded into ignoring many of the higher order effects of their actions.

Any tech that has a smell of centralization is probably evil or will become evil. Any tech that seems to decentralize will eventually be good or be part of that movement. If it makes you feel dumb it’s the former. Vice versa.

Getting into a big “smart” company causes you to feel smart because you’ve surpassed all those other idiots but in fact you’ve just degraded yourself an idiot by allowing what are basically committees to give you life a score.
