It makes no sense to have a menu section for dynamic wallpapers and then not add anything to it for years. Either Apple should support dynamic wallpapers properly or take it off the system. Their current implementation looks like they’re indecisive, which is t a good look.

Logical next step. FR technology tied into already vast UK CCTV network. Government knows your every movement. And because government can’t keep this secure, so does every corporation that wants to find out where you are. Enjoy Dystopia, it’s here.

Also, the ‘reveal’ at the end was a bit unbelievable. The entire setting is premised on it so it does affect the overall story. Still, the relationships and character studies were good enough for this story to be enjoyable.

The teen drama elements were actually interesting in themselves but felt a bit out of touch with the sci-fi/ethics themes. I know the former was supposed to complement the latter (can’t say more without spoiling) but I felt it didn’t work as well.

Never Let Me Go received a lot of good reviews. And a lot of it is well-deserved. It’s a strange mix of teen drama mixed with sci-fi/ethics themes. It was a 7/10 for me.

Kirkman was masterful with the characters and storytelling in the series. I didn’t think I was able to to know such a broad range of characters so well. Interested in seeing where the tv show goes as I know it diverges from the comics in significant areas.

I just finished reading the . 193 issues. A sign of a good story is the way it leaves you feeling and I’m gutted that it’s come to an end. Somehow these comics made me feel in ways a lot of novels weren’t able to. I think comics don’t get the respect they deserve.

    - On the flip side, one of the biggest strengths of the paper book was how easy it was to skim. Skimming is an essential part proper reading and e-readers just can’t beat the ability to quickly flick through physical pages.

    - One of the biggest downsides of the paper book was just how unwieldy it felt. I just find an e-reader so much easier to hold and, of course, view in different lighting.

The main ebook benefits to me: - It’s always easily accessible. It’s always on me. - I can easily look up definitions and other related info. I constantly found myself wanting to tap words in the paper book. - I can easily highlight passages for a proper review session later.

After going fully ebook for a long time now, I read a physical book cover to cover recently and found that I still overall prefer ebooks despite some clear benefits to paper.

This ‘headteacher’ has to be fake. If genuine, it’s extremely worrying.

I used to love this email app when it first came out (it was ahead of its time) but it looks like it’s been abandoned. That may be fine - an app doesn’t have to be a lifetime service - but what’s wrong is that is actively promoting it under ‘Apps to help you focus.’

Enjoyed this one on audible. The characters weren’t very likeable and it was slow to get going - maybe longer than it needed to be - but the overall suspense and haters was satisfying. Also, unlike others in the genre, it gives closure. Plot reminds me of the movie Fractured. 4/5

I don’t know if it’s because there’s not enough competition in this space, but the lack of integration between goodreads, kindle and Audible is not being taken seriously. It’s really unacceptable from a massive company like Amazon.

    5. Goodreads shelves should really also exist on kindle/Audible or kindle collections should also exist on goodreads. If I mark/shelve/tag a book as ‘scifi’ on Goodreads, I don’t want to do it again on Kindle. Not to mention, audible doesn’t even have a collection/shelving option
