Articles like this are vital b/c they show how many women like Nasima are caught between several systems which subject them to hell: state, TB, customary If the Taliban want to govern, they need to articulate how they will uphold the 'Islamic women's rights' they claim to value

Taliban say how much more clarity you want from us? That’s who we are. That’s the definition of Islam and hanafism to us. Treating women like this is justified according to their interpretation of Islam. We keep asking this rhetoric questions & hope the Taliban would “transform.”

The only person I've seen discuss anything close on Twitter is
@ThoughtAnalyst from a non-Kabul centric perspective. We had a brief discussion on concepts of justice (Twitter) and the meaning of justice from the TB. That there's such little insight after 19 years in AF - scary. -
