And I'm not condoning these practices by any means. But what I would say is that the Taliban need to be transparent and held accountable: what is the justice system you want, how are you justifying that, how does it align with human rts norms in place since 2001, etc.

(B/c even if its Hanafi shariah they want, as they claim, a lot of practices we hear about with regard to women don't align with those norms, which would give women greater recourse and power in the courts)

Varies entirely by districts and communities— as with other issues. So many instances from Ghor over the past decade alone makes it dangerous to generalize since not at all always “official.” We were surprised by access to courts for women in some other provinces.
