@a_a_jackson Thanks for the insightful piece. While aid agencies & donors are keen to support vulnerable pops in non-gov areas, the afg gov may be less so & push back/ seek to prevent them from doing so. Keen to hear your take on this dynamic & where pressure can come to bear.
Agreed - agencies are btn a rock and a hard place on this. It's fraught. There's no easy solution. I worry that the calls for a Taliban ceasefire have blunted the humanitarian narrative a bit? They are perceived as 100% political by the taliban. So...
I'm wondering if there is a way for agencies to distance themselves from that - while still exerting pressure for access? You know, getting an agreement from the Taliban not to tax supplies (might be already happening in some places)...or...
using this to push back on Taliban pressure on clinics. And likewise, calling the ANSF to account for blocking access, raiding supplies, etc.
