Oy vey. This is the problem: the Haqqani listing makes no sense. Haqqani is part of the Taliban. Regardless of Haqqani's acts, Anas's significance or whether it's helpful he's there (it is, imo), the listing of Haqqani was nonsensical, political posturing to begin with

Absolutely, I agree completely. The USG’s listing process on the whole is highly political. I think most recently here of the circumstances surrounding the designation of the BLA.
