If they had, they would see that this is not 2011 or 2014 or even 2016. The taliban are taking district centers but leaving govt buildings encircled. They are creeping in. And where they’ve been knocked back, they are lying in wait.
Bombing and body counts will stem the tide. It’s morally f*cked of course but setting that aside, I get it. But it only works for a time. There’s an expiry date on that approach. And what are the political consequences? Vietnam might be a lazy comparison but it’s not far off

Its so painful to see American’s with the binary options: 1)pack up & leave or 2)stay the course. It would be good to know what your problem with Afg. is; if it is math& expenditure? Look at how many Afghans have died & dying. If ur problem is humanitarian or security or terror?
